How to Identify Major vs. Minor

• Last chord of the piece [or of the section, if the key chances in the piece] usually identifies it - the chord must sound like a "home base".

• Minor key pieces frequently [but not always] have a particular note frequently modified with a # or [NATURAL] that conflicts w/ the key signature.

• (If it feels ambiguous after this point, it may be a rare case in which the piece is based on "modal scales", typically giving a particular flavor of sound - some modes sound more Renaissance, and there is a mode that sounds more Egyptian - and these are neither major nor minor.)
